What is a "credit"?
We count a "credit" as a chat message to the AI, e.g. whenever you type something into the chat and send it, that counts as one message or one "message". Note that we don't count "Fix with AI" messages or retry messages as a credit because when it errors that's on us! Credits rollover too.
Why isn't Magic Patterns completely free?
Every AI generation costs us money under the hood. To grow sustainably, we offer a free tier to get you started and then offer paid plans for those who want more credits.
Do you offer a free tier?
Yes, we offer a free tier. But unfortunately, every AI interaction costs us money under the hood, so it's limited.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes! We believe that's only fair. Unused **monthly** credits roll over to the next month and expire after 2 months. Example: if your subscription for 100 credits started on August 15th, and you have 50 monthly credits leftover on September 15th, they will roll over to the next month, so you would have 150 credits (100 + 50) on the 16th. If you do use those 50 credits from August by October 15th, those 50 credits will expire.
How can I cancel my plan?
It is important to us that cancelling is as easy as upgrading. You can cancel your plan at any time, completely self-serve. Once logged in, navigate to the"Billing & Subscription" option in the account dropdown (by clicking on your profile picture) and then click "Manage."
